My name is Philip Cosgrave. I'm a father to an 8-year-old and a 5-year-old, a partner to my wife of 20 years, and a software engineer with 18 years of experience. In my downtime I love experimenting in the kitchen and playing games with my family — board games and video games alike.

From early childhood, I knew I was destined to write software. It wasn't until my internship at Silicon Knights in 2008 that I discovered my passion for developing tools for developers. That spark shaped my entire career — from leading game teams at Gameloft, to 11 years at Unity building UI frameworks and managing engineering teams, to my current work at Epic Games building internal tools for Fortnite and Unreal Engine.

Over the last 16 years I've dedicated myself to developer tooling and UI frameworks, with defining accomplishments including Unity's uGUI, TextMesh Pro, and UI Toolkit. Alongside my technical journey, I've cultivated a deep love for mentoring and managing others — having led teams of up to eleven engineers and grown service revenue by 50% as Senior Manager at Unity.
