Gameloft Toronto was a startup satellite studio working closely with Gameloft Montreal. To justify continued investment, we were tasked with resolving serious performance issues on a Sony PlayStation Vita port of the game.
Extensive profiling revealed that render distance was exhausting the device's graphics memory and triggering constant asset loading and unloading โ a problem shared with the Modern Combat 3 port we were tackling in parallel. Tuning streaming budgets and render culling brought both titles to shippable performance.
